During student teaching I had a bunch of other interns to vent to and talk about problems with but last year I felt like I was alone. My roommate was the only other first year teacher I really knew so I didn’t have as much confidence in myself. I felt like I was struggling alone a lot of the time. I wished my intern friends who had a job would text/chat/email with my just to tell me they were going through shit too… I Thought about my career choice a TON… I wasn’t sure if it was the right thing for me to do… There were days I felt like walking out of the classroom, getting in my car, and heading back to Michigan. But I made it though the first few weeks, then I made it through the first quarter, then I made it to Christmas Break. After break I knew I could make it the rest of the year. This year I feel more confident, more comfortable, and more in control. It gets better.
